Job Description

Position Overview

Under the direction of the operations supervisor the transit operator is responsible for operating mass transit vehicles to transport passengers to various destinations within the service area in a safe timely and professional manner. This position provides critical contributions to support Clallam Transit Systems (CTS) mission.

Compensation

Wage begins at $26.51 per hour moving to $28.16 per hour after successful completion of the 180day probationary period. Operators receive pay increases on their anniversaries up to $34.46wage scale) and annual cost of living increases.

Summary of Required Qualifications

High school diploma or high school equivalency.

Five consecutive years of licensed driving experience.

A valid drivers license or ability to obtain. Meet all requirements and obtain a class B Washington State commercial drivers license (CDL) with proper licensure during training period. Paid training is provided at Clallam Transit System for obtaining the required CDL.

Summary of Working Conditions

This is a safetysensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with CTS policy and federal regulations. Represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 587.

Reimbursement of CDL endorsement fees and USDOT medical examination costs.
