About the Job

We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our Walker Compost Facility location in Niagara Falls ON. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be servicing heavy equipment on regular intervals including preventative maintenance performing hydraulic work and major mechanical repairs to the equipment and ordering parts and documenting repairs as needed. This is a full time position reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Perform maintenance and complex repairs to equipment such as screeners grinders and loaders.
  • Adhere to a preventative maintenance program on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot in accordance with manufacturers specifications and requirements.
  • Repair or replace defective components using hand and power tools.
  • Design weld and manufacture custom parts when needed.
  • Exercise good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs.

Heres What You Need

  • Experienced or licensed heavyduty equipment technician 421A).
  • Experience or licensed 310T is an asset.
  • Welding experience or licensed is an asset.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Strong commitment to established safety protocols.
  • Must be able to work both in a Shop environment as well as in the field & possibly Field Service.
