Heavy Industrial Electrical Instrumentation Technician
Where will you work: Onsite at our New Wales Facility 3095 County Road 640 West Mulberry FL 33860
As a heavy industrial electrical instrumentation technician you will troubleshoot repair perform preventative maintenance calibrate and install electrical electronic instrumentation and automation equipment across the entire plant or mine. This includes working with medlow voltage systems AC and DC systems lighting motors receptacles starters drives power supply wiring (including conduit) transformers programmable controllers and electrical components as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems. You will thrive in this role if you are detail oriented with the ability to work in an outdoor industrial work environment with exposure to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
What youll do:
Maintain and Repair: Use hand tools and testers to maintain and repair motors starters drives lowtomediumtohigh voltage systems and instrumentation throughout the entire plant. Common voltages include 480 volts and 4160 volts.
Troubleshoot and Calibrate: Visually troubleshoot and use varied testing equipment to assess all EIA systems across the Plant or Mine. Adjust hardware to maintain the interface between automation and operations as needed.
Work Orders and Emergencies: Handle regular work orders and respond to emergencies throughout the Plant or Mine. Maintain cleanliness in work areas.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance on equipment that monitors flow temperature density and pressure.
Effective Communication: Daily communication with area supervisors to prioritize and delegate tasks. Share findings with management.
CMMS Utilization: Follow verbal or written instructions from supervision and management. Input data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required.
Safety Awareness: Remain vigilant about issues that could impact fellow workers safety or the environment.
Additional Responsibilities: Includes updating assets/BOM and drawing as needed
What youll need:
High school diploma or GED
A combination of experience in a heavy industrial environment and education will be considered. IE: Graduation from an accredited electrical program
Experience troubleshooting heavy industrial electrical equipment such as wiring and creating motor controls from scratch
Ability to read and understand motor drawings PLC drawings oneline drawings and/or P&ID drawings and schematics
Basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently or as a team
Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures
Data entry skills
Ability to safely move in and through work areas including climbing stairs maintaining good balance being mentally alert having good visual acuity and safely working at heights
Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment including moving objects concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles
Complete PreJob Workplace Examinations
Responsible for the safe and compliant storage inspection usage of tools and equipment
Bonus points if you have the following:
Associate degree in vocational electrical instrumentation or automation
IBEW apprenticeship and Phosphate industry
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming/software
Heavy industrial instrumentation experience
