Job Description
The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor to begin Fall of academic year 202526. We seek a historian who specializes in the area of Atlantic Slavery and the African Diaspora in the U.S. before 1865. We welcome applications from scholars with transnational or comparative projects. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching in the areas of slavery US history and the African Diaspora research and service to the department college and university.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in History or related fields by August 1 2025. Preferred qualifications include a strong record of research and teaching.
