Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience working in an academic institution preferably K12 education strongly preferred.
  2. High School diploma or equivalent.
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of information system hardware and software troubleshooting skills and problem resolution.
  4. Ability and willingness to learn new systems and technology.
  5. Ability in handling confidential matters in an ethical manner.
  6. Knowledge of principles and practices of network design and administration.
  7. Sound organizational skills and an ability to recognize and change work priorities in a timely fashion.
  8. Valid Mississippi drivers license is required for travel between district school buildings.
  9. Good verbal and written communication skills

REPORTS TO: Director of Technology

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

NOTE: Reasonable accommodations will be made if necessary to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Diagnoses hardware and operating system problems and repair.
  2. Cleans computer equipment and peripherals.
  3. Installs and reinstalls software for proper operation in the instructional process.
  4. Assists with network cable installation as directed.
  5. Helps set up computer labs with proper configuration.
  6. Picks up and deliver equipment between school buildings.
  7. Provides emergency assistance as required to maintain district technology services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Setup install and maintain district computer systems. Install workstation hardware and software upgrades.
  2. Setup install and maintain printers computer peripherals and their related software.
  3. Install and troubleshoot computer software while maintaining license requirements.
  4. Perform repair of computer hardware printers and peripherals including acquisition of parts and maintaining service related records.
  5. Coordinate the annual cleaning and preventive maintenance of district computer equipment.
  6. Provide support to end users through their requests for services by troubleshooting site hardware software and wiring problems.
  7. Provide basic training on the care and operation of district computer equipment as needed.
  8. Assist the Director of Technology in the purchase and procurement of all technology equipment for each of the buildings in the district. Excluding all network and server equipment.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain currency of technological skills and knowledge base.
  2. Promote a positive image of the District at all times.
  3. Participate in district technology meetings as required.
  4. Operate in coordination with network administrator(s).
  5. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology
