Emerge is recruiting for a Process Engineer job in Winsted CT with an aerospace manufacturer known for innovation. This is a directhire opportunity to play a critical role in optimizing CNC Machining processes.
As a Process Engineer you will ensure compliance with process specifications oversee metallurgical characteristics and engineer highyield costeffective products that meet customer quality standards. Success in this role requires strong collaboration handson engagement and excellent communication skills. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Machining Process Engineer job in Winsted CT include:
- Troubleshoot fixturing clamping program parameter and tooling issues to resolve production problems.
- Design and implement mistakeproof fixturing to improve yields and reduce s.
- Conduct time studies to define and balance operator standard work generate standard work charts and compare performance to cost model estimates.
- Utilize SPC charts and process capability methods to improve firsttime yields.
- Plan and develop processes for new product introductions (NPI) including tooling procurement routings and bill of materials.
- Analyze shop floor performance using data tools (e.g. Power BI) to identify and close performance gaps including s and rework costs.
- Apply APQP tools to minimize s risks and defects.
- Assist in cost estimation for new and repeat production jobs.
- Lead and support costsaving initiatives.
- Serve as a technical liaison with customers suppliers and other Howmet plants regarding processes specifications and customer requirements.
- Research analyze and justify equipment procurement.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement events.
- Provide technical support to shop floor personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Industrial etc. is required.
- Minimum of 8 or more years of experience in a CNC Machining manufacturing environment in an process or manufacturing engineer role.
- Proficiency with engineering concepts standard work principles and tools such as MiniTab.
- Familiarity with machining including Mills Grinders GD & T AS9100
- Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
