ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Operates a computer system to retrieve index verify and update data including real estate legal descriptions into the Acclaim Land Record System (ALRS) and to produce documentation of a detailed nature; maintains batch control and reviews proofreads and confirms quality of data input; verifies computer generated reports information and records; works with plats (e.g. sets up new subdivision and condominiums into the Acclaim Land Record System (ALRS). Operates office and various computer support equipment as directed; performs a variety of clerical tasks to assist with the efficient operation of the department; performs other related duties as required and directed. Also performs special projects (e.g. back scanning) Assist the general public with obtaining and filing documents filing and retrieving copies. Assists in resolving document and recording conflicts/problems in person or by phone answers calls and questions from the general public attorneys and real estate professionals etc.; assists with receipt sorting and distribution of documents submitted for recording operates the Mekel machine to duplicate images from film to be electronically available to the public; aids other staff as needed. OTHER DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other related duties as required by the Office Supervisor; may assist in other departments as required by the HCRO Administration. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledge of: Department practices and procedures; computer operation and techniques; recording Entries in the computerized geographic Index (CGI) (e.g. straight lots metes and Bounds easement plats subdivision condominiums and prior registered land and Traditionally recorded land documents); having a comprehensive knowledge of legal Descriptions from the simplest to the most complex; geographically indexing various Descriptions from recorded documents (e.g. mortgages assignments and releases). Skill in: Use of measurement tools devices and equipment; operation of office equipment (e.g. Copier computers calculators etc. an understanding of effective writing techniques And data entry techniques. Ability to: Index documents into the CGI from Book 1 through Book 15K; Understand engineering Principles; deal with problems involving all variables in familiar context; read copy and Record information accurately; retain accurate records; thoroughly compile and organize Information; communicate and maintain good relationships with coworkers and Management; identify errors and take proper corrective action; calculate fractions Decimals and percentages; answer inquiries from the public attorneys realtors etc.
