Job Description

Basic Function
The Cincinnati Technology Center provides research development and technical service for polymers and polymer recycling in a laboratory setting. The analytical lab performs spectroscopy chromatography thermal rheology and microscopy analysis. The site has strong HSE performance and a positive work culture.
LyondellBasells Cincinnati Technology Center is seeking a laboratory associate for the polymer characterization laboratory. This position will perform analytical testing interpret data and document results. The Lab Associate will participate on teams to achieve department goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work safely and participate in activities to improve safety performance of site.
- Contribute to the sites positive work culture.
- Perform polymer characterization analytical testing analyze data and document results.
- Become a subject matter expert in performing assigned analytical tests.
- Collaborate with analytical researchers to solve complex characterization problems.
- Maintain instruments in good working condition and perform routine calibrations.
- Participate on project teams to help achieve department goals.
Min. Qualifications
- Associates degree in Chemistry Polymer Chemistry or a related technical field preferably with experience in an R&D manufacturing or industrial laboratory.
- Experience with analytical techniques is desirable.
- Highly selfmotivated individual focused on providing high quality laboratory data in an efficient manner while exhibiting excellent workplace skills
- Solid background in Microsoft Office and computerbased instrument control systems for analytical equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills and the ability to make competent independent decisions in a timely manner to ensure excellent progress on assigned tasks.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and or changing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Must possess the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal customers external customers and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry is preferred with 05 years relevant experience.
