Job Description
- Develop and implement practice plans and training programs to enhance team performance.
- Provide individual coaching and feedback to studentathletes to improve their skills and techniques.
- Identify and recruit talented studentathletes to join the bowling program.
- Build and maintain relationships with high school coaches and bowling clubs to facilitate recruitment efforts.
- Organize and oversee team practices competitions and travel arrangements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages teamwork and personal development.
- Ensure adherence to NCAA/NAIA rules and regulations regarding eligibility scholarships and recruitment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Monitor the academic progress of studentathletes and support their academic success.
- Work with academic advisors to ensure studentathletes are meeting eligibility requirements.
- Promote the bowling program through outreach initiatives and community involvement.
- Organize and participate in events that enhance the visibility of the program and engage alumni and supporters.
- Collaborate with the athletic department and other coaching staff to enhance the overall athletic program.
- Assist in transportation of athletes to/from athletic events which may include driving a fullsize passenger van or other large capacity vehicle.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on coaching best practices and industry trends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Development:
- Develop and implement training programs to improve individual and team performance.
- Conduct regular practice sessions focusing on skill development strategy and teamwork.
Recruitment:
- Identify and recruit talented bowlers to join the college team.
- Attend high school tournaments and other events to scout potential recruits.
Game Strategy:
- Analyze opponents and develop game plans for competitions.
- Teach players about lane conditions ball selection and tactical approaches to matches.
Performance Analysis:
- Monitor and evaluate player performance through video analysis and statistics.
- Provide feedback to players to help them improve their skills.
Team Management:
- Manage team dynamics and foster a positive competitive environment.
- Organize team meetings to discuss goals progress and challenges.
Administrative Duties:
- Handle scheduling for practices competitions and travel arrangements.
- Maintain budgets and assist in fundraising efforts for the program.
Compliance:
- Ensure that all team activities comply with NAIA/NCAA or relevant governing body regulations.
- Educate players about eligibility requirements and academic responsibilities.
Mentorship:
- Act as a mentor to players supporting their personal and academic growth.
- Provide guidance on balancing athletics with academic commitments.
Community Engagement:
- Promote the bowling program within the college and the local community.
- Organize events or clinics to raise awareness and interest in the sport.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques bowling equipment and trends in the sport.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- These responsibilities ensure that the coach not only develops athletes bowling skills but also contributes to their overall development as students and individuals.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Sports Management Physical Education or Coaching) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous coaching experience in bowling at high school collegiate or club level.
- Strong understanding of bowling techniques strategies and rules.
- Familiarity with training methods and athlete development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate athletes.
- Strong organizational skills for planning practices competitions and team logistics.
- Knowledge of NAIA/NCAA (or relevant governing body) rules and regulations related to collegiate athletics.
- Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.
- Must have a State of Texas or Arkansas class C vehicle operators license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Acceptable driving record and periodic completion of van safety course
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Physical Requirements
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Working in all weather conditions exposure to high noise levels standing throughout the day the ability to use a loud voice at practices and events and physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players.

Preferred Qualifications
- Competitive bowling experience
- Several years of experience at the collegiate level particularly in bowling or similar sports.
- Knowledge of current trends and strategies in collegiate bowling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team including mentoring athletes both on and off the lanes.
- Experience with budget management scheduling and coordinating travel for competitions.
- Indepth understanding of NAIA/NCAA rules and regulations regarding eligibility scholarships and compliance.
- Familiarity with using technology for coaching analysis performance tracking and team communication.
