Job Title: Journeyman Electrician

Under general supervision maintain repair and install electrical systems services and equipment for the District. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all electrical systems and fixtures in District facilities.
Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED required
Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required
Documented electrical courses from Trade School preferred
Valid Class C Texas drivers license and proof of insurability with District insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge and skills to qualify as an electrical journeyman in accordance with industry standards
Knowledge of electrical circuits wiring and operating principles of motors current electrical codes and ordinances
Ability to read blueprints schematics wiring diagrams and written reference material
Strong organizational communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Ability to supervise and evaluate the performance of electrical staff
Ability to follow and issue written and verbal instructions
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Ability to use hand and power tools
Basic computer skills
Ability to utilize technology resources relevant to position

Minimum 5 years electrical industry experience; public education experience preferred
