Bearingstar is poised for growth in Commercial Lines with a focus on small business. We are looking for a Team Lead in our Commercial Lines Department. This position will support our customers and team members across both MA and CT and the ideal location would be in our Fall River or Norwood Massachusetts office. Were looking for an operationally focused individual who will contribute to the overall department success by providing support to the departments management team members and other business partners. The Team Lead serves as a subject matter expert regarding process workflow and the ownership of escalating and resolving complex issues. The Team Lead position offers a unique understanding on how the different functions of the department work together to support our internal and external customers as well as organizational initiatives.

Essential Duties May Include:

  • Consistently serve as an available approachable and flexible resource for team members.
  • Influence without authority by building trust and respect among peers fostering teamwork and unity and promoting a diverse inclusive environment that values new ideas and perspectives.
  • Proactively identify and address workload and production challenges across the service support and new business quoting teams. Ensure work is distributed effectively stepping in to complete tasks as needed to maintain service standards and meet customer satisfaction goals. This will be a core responsibility accounting for approximately 50 of the role.
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of carrier and agency procedures. Stay uptodate on industry changes including forms coverage updates selling trends and techniques through ongoing education via company communications bulletins circulars and relevant training resources.
  • Serve as a technical and service expert. Act as the primary expert on processes workflows and customerrelated challenges taking ownership of the escalation and resolution of complex issues.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders agency teams and carrier partners to establish best practices and streamline processes.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis on quality and service metrics identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement in business performance.
  • Create implement and update departmental procedures including proficiency measurements and tracking systems to support the training and development of team members.
  • Participate with management in understanding crafting and messaging departmental changes and updates.
  • Contribute to the success of special projects by representing the team providing subject matter expertise assessing functional impacts and supporting implementation and testing efforts. Drive continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to enhance people processes and technology to drive efficiency and performance improvements.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required to support the team and organizational goals.

Success will be measured by the Team Leads ability to effectively support new hire onboarding training and ongoing development. They will oversee work distribution and training to ensure optimal coverage and strengthen team capabilities ultimately enhancing the customer experience. The Team Lead should be capable of stepping in for the Team Manager when needed and demonstrate leadership by earning the respect of peers resolving internal issues promptly and identifying opportunities for process improvements. Additionally the Team Lead will communicate department goals and results clearly while actively contributing to the achievement of organizational objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum five plus years of Commercial Lines insurance experience ideally with small to midmarkets.
  • CurrentMA and/or CT Property & Casualty License required
  • Knowledge of Commercial quoting and remarketing.
  • Working knowledge of insurance forms coverage and rating.
  • Excellent communication presentation and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Agency Management Systems. Experience with Applieds EPIC is a plus.
