Job Description
Position:ESL Summer Literacy Program Teacher
Dates:Monday Thursday July 7 2025 Julydays a week for a month)
Location:Hosmer School
Rate of Pay:$35.00 per hour
Hours:8:0012:00 pm includes 30 min of prep a day
Additional days: 1 day 4hrs) one 1hour orientation and includes program setup/clean up time.
Additional paid time: There may be an additional weekly 30minute faculty meeting at the discretion of the Director.

Responsibilities:
- Teach grouping of students in grades K8. (Grouping would not exceed 1520
- Use Responsive classroom management morning meeting and closing circle
- Conduct whole group and small group literacy lessons
- Encourage a love of reading and talking about books
- Work with students on writing in response to reading
- Implement the ESL Literacy Camp curriculum and incorporate creative activities as needed
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Experience working with elementary and middle school ELs preferred.
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Familiarity with best practices in literacy instruction
- Holds the belief that all children can learn and learn to read and write effectively
- Familiarity with Responsive Classroom practices language and beliefs
- An ability to engage students in using all 4 domains: listening reading speaking and writing
- Having students engage in academic conversations during every class
- Attend preprogram training and weekly faculty meetings.
Education / Experience:
A current Massachusetts ESL Teaching License/Certification
Three or more successful years of experience teaching ESL students in literacy preferred
