We at Cherokee Charter Academy are committed to developing the next generation of American citizens with the skills to be critical thinkers and have the character traits to excel. We are adding one grade level per year and will be serving students in 4K through 8th grade next school year. In the near future we will also be applying for expansion of our charter to serve students in high school beginning in the 2324 school year.

MainJob Tasks Duties and Responsibilities:
Planprepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learningexperiences with Core Knowledge Eureka and Core Virtues Curriculum in a smallgroup setting and/or classroom pushin
Updateall necessary records accurately and completely as required by law districtpolicies and school regulations
ConstructIEP and/or 504 documents in collaboration with team members
Scheduleand participate in committee on special education meetings with Director of SpecialEducation
Maintaina positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning
Administerschoolwide assessments and use data to inform instruction
Identifyand select instructional resources and methods to meet students varying needs
Userelevant educational and/or assistive technology to support instruction
Observeand evaluate students performance and development
Maintainaccurate and complete records of students progress toward goals anddevelopment
Appropriatelymanage student behavior in the classroom and establish positive relationships
Participatein department and school meetings parent meetings and professionaldevelopment
Communicatenecessary information regularly to students colleagues and parents regardingstudent progress and student needs
Adhereto CCA school policies and procedures
Workcollaboratively with classroom assistants and the Director of Special Educationas needed
Maintainprofessionalism in the workplace
JobSkills & Requirements:
Bachelorsdegree in special education literacy or related field
SouthCarolina State Certification (Special Education)
PreferredQualifications:Masters degree in special education or related field; Experience with NorthwestEvaluation Association (NWEA)
