JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Vegetable Pathology Lab and Plant Disease Clinic will be hiring a parttime assistant to help with various laboratory diagnostic work and laboratory and greenhouse/field research on vegetable crops. The employee will assist with various tasks including testing and culturing from samples data entry and culture media preparation. The employee will also assist with laboratory and greenhouse/field research on vegetable crops including onions tomatoes and cucurbits.
Specific skills needed include the ability to follow protocols and safety procedures. Experience working with plants and plant pathogens is beneficial. Personal transportation to the Russell E. Larson Ag Research Center (Rock Springs) is required on occasion.
This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US drivers license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
