The estimated annual base salary range for this position in the United States can be found in the JOB INFO section below. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors including performance knowledge jobrelated skills and experience and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&Cs annual incentive plan (AIP) subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate aboutQuality S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our design quality function. As aDesign Quality Engineer III youll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.TheDesign Quality Engineer III serves as an experienced contributor in driving the integration of quality principles into design projects. This role involves managing quality activities within project teams implementing quality methodologies and coordinating efforts to ensure products meet performance and reliability goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Integration in Projects:Lead the application of quality tools such as FMEA control plans and APQP in product design projects to address potential risks and ensure compliance.
- Crossfunctional Collaboration:Work with engineering manufacturing and quality assurance teams to align quality objectives across the product lifecycle.
- Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) Reduction: Identify and analyze the cost of poor quality within assigned design projects collaborating with crossfunctional teams on a smaller scope to address defect trends implement preventative measures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce COPQ.
- CriticaltoQuality (CTQ) Feature:Define document and apply criticaltoquality (CTQ) features within assigned projects working collaboratively with production and supply chain teams to implement control mechanisms that maintain CTQ standards on a smaller scale.
- Quality Data Analysis:Review and interpret quality data to identify trends and provide actionable feedback to design teams.
- Process Optimization:Identify opportunities for process improvements within design workflows and lead initiatives to implement changes.
- Quality Support & Collaboration:Provide quality support for product engineering teams working closely with product engineering and product teams to address qualityrelated issues and drive continuous improvements. Support the resolution of complex quality issues utilizing advanced problemsolving tools to identify root causes and implement effective preventative measures.
- Metrics & Feedback Utilization:Utilize quality feedback and metrics to identify opportunities for design and process improvements driving datadriven decisionmaking across the company.
- Team Support:Support other quality engineers in their work setting standards and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the quality engineering team.
- Industry Trends & Innovation:Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies incorporating relevant advancements into the companys approach to quality engineering.
- Compliance:Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
What youll Need To Succeed:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
- 57 years of progressive experience in quality engineering focusing on design quality within the electrical industry or a related industry.
- High level of proficiency in APQP methodologies and their application in design.
- Sound knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and tolerance stackup analysis.
- Handson experience with statistical analysis tools used for quality analysis.
- Rounded understanding of design validation frameworks including Design Verification and Validation (DVV).
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the qualityfunction.
- Good project management skills able to successfully lead small project teams through challenges.
- Sound organizational and multitasking skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced working environment.
- Sound attention to detail with an analytical mindset and good problemsolving skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect navigate and resolve conflict moderate behaviors and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience.
- Good communication skills (written verbal listening and presentation). Able to liaise with key stakeholders outside the quality function in technical and nontechnical roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook Word PowerPoint Excel etc) including excellent Excel skills and experience using Power BI.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification from ASQ.
