Job Description
Specialized position requiring skills to install or field repair blow out preventers in accordance with industry procedures to minimize any downtime and maximize utilization.
Responsibilities:
- Servicing blow out preventers pack offs reel swivels lubricators iron and down hole tools etc.
- Examine repair test and maintain products at the rig site or in the shop.
- Advise company representative on repair or replacement options and costs of products.
- Performing and documenting all pressure tests for these components after service
- Obtaining and maintaining an inventory of expendable materials and parts for these items
- Provide field service and customer support to include but not limited to equipment removal tear down troubleshoot evaluate repair test and install.
- Load and unload material for repair projects
- Ability to communicate with client supervisor engineers production control quality and other shop personnel etc. as it relates to the job.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the BOP system to ensure optimal performance
- Participate in safety meetings and drills
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three 3 years experience working with servicing BOPs and/or downhole tools
- Experience in managing expendable materials inventory
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Good communications and organizational skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 100lbs and pass the work steps physical
- Good knowledge of BOP systems and drilling operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Strong problemsolving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and demanding environment
- Willingness to work on a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
