Job Code: RCP123The Morgan County Health Department is seeking an Environmental Health Specialist 4. Primary responsibilities will be to provide oversight and management of the Environmental Health program in Morgan County to include inspection/permitting/consultation for the OnSite Sewage Program Individual Well Water Program Tourist Accommodation Program Public Swimming Pool Program Body Art Program Food Service Programs and Rabies Control to ensure compliance of state rules and regulations. Investigate all assigned healthrelated complaints received and perform all environmental health office duties such as filing letter writing data entry etc. Use of a personal vehicle at State reimbursement rate will be required.
As a Lead Environmental Health Specialist 4 within the Morgan County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g. chemistry biology geology physics etc. and one 1 year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 3 (RCP122 or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of a masters degree in environmental health science Or current registration as a registered environmental health specialist or registered sanitarian by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) or the recognized credentialing board of a state or country having equivalent standards as NEHA
Minimum annual starting salary $58547.06 plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays annual and sick leave health insurance and retirement plans. Salary will be adjusted based on prior DPH Environmental Health experience and degree of education as applicable.
