Overview

Experienced Phlebotomists

This posting is specifically for positions located at our Clinic locations in Southern NH

We are seeking candidates with previous Phlebotomy experience looking for permanent employment for our positions listed below.

We currently have the following open position(s):

  • Fulltime (day shift) 40 hours/week working 9:30am 6:00pm at our Manchester Clinic
  • Fulltime (day shift) 40 hours/week working 9:00am 5:30pm at our Manchester Clinic
  • Parttime (day shift) 20 hours/week working 7:00am 12:30pm at our Manchester Clinic

All per diem parttime and fulltime positions require weekends on rotation. Parttime and fulltime positions require holidays on rotation.

An integral part of our hospital operations the role of the Phlebotomist is a key player in the facilitation of collecting and passing along a vital piece of information to our Laboratory and Pathologists to help DHMC and Clinics achieve its mission of providing each person the best care in the right place at the right time every time. The Phlebotomist collects blood samples from patients of all ages. Identifies patients and procures samples.

Responsibilities

  1. Obtains blood specimens from outpatients. Maintains knowledge of specific specimen requirements and follows the correct order of draw based on tube type and special handing of tests. Utilizes proper resources for obtaining specimen requirement information.
  2. Collects and enters offsite blood work into system.
  3. Completes and processes a variety of forms. Obtains preauthorizations and patient signatures.
  4. Prepares specimens for inlab testing or offsite shipment. Processes specimens that require special handling according to established procedures or protocols.
  5. Ensures blood drawing stations are clean and well stocked.
  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or the equivalent required.
  • 1 year of medical/technical experience desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Proven work experience with the public.
  • Strong computer ability desired.
  • Applicant must be honest dependable able to multitask and be detail oriented.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • BLS within 30 days
  • Certification as Phlebotomy Technician PBT preferred within 6 months of hire. Issuing source American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) preferred.
