A postdoctoral research fellowship position is available at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. This appointment will be at the rank of postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School. Massachusetts General Hospitals role as a leading teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School with close ties to Harvard University and MIT provides an outstanding environment for developing and translating new optical technologies with applications in biology and medicine.
The position will focus on the development and application of coherent Raman imaging and other ultrafast nonlinear imaging technologies to problems in dermatology and cancer.
The goal of this research position is to create new imaging platforms for the sensitive detection of both precancerous lesions as well as imaging technologies that can better define skin cancer lesions.
This position will be highly interdisciplinary spanning from imaging system construction to in vivo and potentially clinical imaging.
We are seeking a highly motivated creative candidate with expertise in optical imaging and microscopy system development.
Experience in animal imaging cancer biology and/or chemistry is highly desirable but is not absolutely essential.
Requirements: A Ph.D. in physical chemistry biophysics physics biomedical engineering or related fields is required.
Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following fields: optical imaging system development microscopy/endoscopy development and/or in vivo/small animal imaging.
