We are Hiring for UofL Hospitals Nursing Float Pool Critical Care ICU

Location: 530 South Jackson Street Louisville KY 40202

Shift Options: 7p7a Part Time or FullTime

The Float Pool provides support to all of our inpatient units including intermediate intensive care cardiac surgical and a variety of other service lines. Float pool staffing provides a crucial service for our customers not only to ensure safe quality patient care but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set with a variety of patients throughout the facility that will enable you to become a resource to others.

UofL Hospital a 404bed academic teaching and research hospital is at the heart of the Louisville Metro area in downtown Louisville. UofL Hospital offers a secondtonone cancer center worldrenowned trauma team and a uniquely streamlined nationally accredited stroke centerthe latest innovations in a history of worldclass care. UofL Hospital is the only adult Level I Trauma Center in the region which includes the only dedicated burn center in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Float Pool provides support to our inpatient units including our intensive care units. Float pool staffing provides a crucial service for our customers not only to ensure safe quality patient care but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set with a variety of patients throughout the facility that will enable you to become a resource to others.

The area of focus

  • Floating each shift to ICU units within the hospital

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of two 2 years of RN experience in ICU specialty areas
  • All newhire Associate degree registered nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one 1 year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three 3)years of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
