POSITION SUMMARY This position assists the Master Carpenter and must have the ability and knowledge to perform jobs assigned or when the Master Carpenter is not available. Must be able to respond to after hours emergencies or work overtime when needed. He/she must be able to assist in all other areas and departments as necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in sign repair and maintenance Use proper PPE Assist in inventory control Maintain all equipment and tools in a safe working order Keep Maintenance vehicle and shop clean
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS High School Diploma or GED preferred Reliable and steady work performance history Must have a clean MVR and a valid drivers license with the ability to drive in all types of weather and road conditions Must have a minimum of 1 (one) years experience as a carpenter or working with a carpenter Must be familiar with and the use of all carpentry equipment
Position requires employee to be competent to understand written/oral instruction from Facilities Maintenance Manager and Master Carpenter Provide excellent customer service to residents coworkers and other departmental personnel Continuing education a plus SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Assist in other departments/areas when needed Assist in storm cleanup Assist in treatment and plowing of roads Help with traffic control Must be available for afterhours callins including holidays and weekends
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs. Most work is performed outdoors (rain snow extreme heat/cold etc. May have encounters with wildlife during daily duties May be standing kneeling bending twisting climbing etc. for long periods of time May work 23 hours at a time between breaks
