Job Description
Shift Pattern: 7:30 to 15:30 Monday Friday. May move to a later shift pattern on a rotational basis.
WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Senior Chemist to join the team in Dundonald UK. Working with the Senior Chemist to ensure that an effective and highquality analytical service isprovided to meet reporting deadlines on the various types of samples / commodities submitted tothe laboratory for analytical evaluation. Effective management of the Chemistry Lab and personnelon a day to day basis deputizing for the Senior Chemist in their absence.
They will be responsible for carrying out analytical methods and standard operating practices without supervision to a high degree of precision and accuracy ensuring that an effective and highquality analytical service is provided. Carrying out method development and validation within chemistry section using a number of analytical instrument techniques including GCMS ICPMS and IC.
Previous experience in these techniques is pivotal to the role.
They will ensure full compliance with companys ISO 17025 accreditation ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
certifications.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES
To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 year experience within a laboratory analytical setting.
- Minimum 3 year experience in ICPMS is preferable.
- Experience of managing people.

- Ability to plan and implement method development and validation work.
- Troubleshooting knowledge and general problem solving.
- Mentoring coaching training and technical support.
- Ability to effectively lead and drive a team.
- Highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Good numeracy skills.
- IT skills Microsoft and Google applications.
Required Qualifications
- HNC or HND in Science related subjects or equivalent as a minimum.
- Science degree preferable.
