Overview
Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE HAYW) is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world with a significant presence in the commercial pool market that is continuously growing. Hayward designs manufactures and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps filters heating cleaners salt chlorinators automation lighting safety flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte North Carolina Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee Arizona and Rhode Island as well as Canada Spain France Australia and China. This role is based in Clemmons NC.
The Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers driving technical excellence product innovation and operational efficiency. This role combines strategic leadership with handson technical expertise to ensure the development of highquality products that enhance Haywards market presence.
In this role you will collaborate closely with product managers designers and crossfunctional teamsincluding Manufacturing Supply Chain Quality Planning and ITto execute Haywards vision. You will focus on speed and quality in product development ensuring the success of projects through Haywards gated Product Development Process.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead mentor and develop a highperforming engineering team.
- Conduct regular 1:1s performance reviews and career development discussions.
- Foster a collaborative inclusive and highmorale culture within the team.
- Provide technical guidance and support engineers in achieving their professional goals.
Technical Strategy &
- Partner with senior leadership and product teams to define and execute product and technology roadmaps.
- Build technical expertise and capabilities to support Haywards longterm growth.
- Oversee product architecture design reviews and best practices for pumps filters valves and other pool equipment.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement in product design processes and systems.
Project & Delivery Management
- Lead engineering projects from concept to launch ensuring ontime delivery and highquality outcomes.
- Manage resources priorities and timelines to balance shortterm and longterm objectives.
- Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
CrossFunctional Collaboration
- Work closely with product management design and quality teams to align project goals.
- Support crossfunctional planning and decisionmaking to optimize product development.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Champion a culture of learning innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends emerging technologies and best practices.
- Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency scalability and product performance.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in product design and engineering.
- 3 years of experience in an engineering leadership role.
- Expertise in injectionmolded plastics liquid pumps electric motors and/or valves is a plus.
- Familiarity with gated development processes and modular product development methodologies.
- Experience with Teamcenter PLM SolidWorks or equivalent design tools.
- Strong background in DfX DFMEA Modeling & Simulation and other robust engineering design methodologies.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to sit stand walk talk and hear for extended periods.
- Must wear safety glasses when on the production floor.
