Your Role as Environmental Engineer
As an Environmental Engineer you will lead and execute environmental projects while playing a strategic role in business development. You will ensure compliance with environmental regulations support clients in achieving their sustainability goals and actively contribute to expanding our environmental services portfolio. This role requires a strong technical background in environmental assessments regulatory processes and fieldwork related to air water and soil quality along with a proactive approach to client engagement and project relationship management and market expansion.
Your Key Accountabilities
- Environmental Sustainability
- Lead and support environmental studies including baseline assessments environmental impact assessments (EIA) and permitting applications.
- Develop and implement environmental management strategies plans and best practices for sustainable operations.
- Arrange field investigations including air water and soil sampling and oversee data collection analysis and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal environmental regulations preparing technical reports and applications for regulatory approvals.
- Oversee environmental monitoring programs and mitigation plans for industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with clients regulatory agencies and stakeholders to develop environmental solutions that align with project goals.
- Provide technical guidance on waste management mine water management and reclamation initiatives.
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment during field activities and officebased project
- Business Development
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand BESTECHs environmental services identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients to understand their evolving needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Lead the development of proposals presentations and bids to secure new projects ensuring competitive and highquality submissions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify crossselling opportunities and expand service offerings.
- Represent BESTECH at industry conferences networking events and client meetings to enhance brand visibility and market presence.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to anticipate market demands and align service offerings accordingly.
- Drive revenue growth by actively engaging in contract negotiations pricing strategies and longterm client relationship management.
- Bachelors degree in Hydrogeology Geological Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in environmental consulting preferably in the mining or industrial sector.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng. or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation in Ontario or eligibility for registration in Ontario is preferred.
- Proven track record in business development including client acquisition relationship management and revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulationspermitting processes and compliance requirements in Canada.
- Experience in environmental modeling GIS applications and data analysis tools is an asset.
- Excellent project management skills including scope development budgeting and scheduling.
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear actionable insights.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel for site visits and fieldwork.
