Hematology/Oncologist opportunity in Nashville Tennessee
Excellent opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including oncologists radiologists pathologists and surgeons to ensure integrated patient care in a community hospital setting level 3 trauma 150 beds with 560 fulltime employees.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Diagnose and treat hematologic and oncologic conditions including but not limited to leukemia lymphoma myeloma anemia and solid tumors.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including chemotherapy immunotherapy targeted therapy and other advanced treatments.
- Manage complications related to cancer treatment such as neutropenia infections and other adverse effects.
- Perform bone marrow aspirations biopsies and other procedures as necessary.
Collaborative Care:
- Participate in tumor boards case reviews and treatment planning meetings.
- Provide consultation services to other departments and medical staff.
- Patient Education & Support:
- Educate patients and their families on diagnosis treatment options prognosis and available supportive services.
- Engage in palliative care and pain management strategies when necessary.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and families dealing with cancer diagnoses.
Research & Continuous Education:
- Stay current with advances in hematology and oncology by participating in continuing medical education (CME) opportunities attending conferences and reading relevant literature.
- Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives to advance the field of oncology and hematology when appropriate.
- Administrative & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal regulatory and institutional policies.
- Follow best practices and protocols in line with national and institutional guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
