Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department. Tasks may be related to onboarding employee relations unemployment leaves and other HR matters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trackand administer leave programs ensuring the company complies with all local state and federal regulations. This includes helping to facilitate accommodation requests.
  • Assistwith investigating routine matters summarizing reports and contributing to the conversation of any subsequent employee actions.
  • Coachand guide managers on performance management matters.
  • Analyzedata and create reports for decisionmakers.
  • Helpto prepare documentation and information for unemployment hearings.
  • Work inconjunction with the safety team and managers on workers compensation matters.
  • Collectand analyze internal and external information in order to compare the organizations HR practices to those prevailing in the market.
  • Answerbasic employee questions relating to company policy and practices
  • May lead orassist with training activities such as new employee orientation or other classes.
  • Conductexit interviews and analyze data to identify trends. May be involved with the recommendation and of further action.
  • Assist incomplying with any local state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Participatein continuous HR improvement initiatives and metrics.
  • Assist withany other internal or external HR issues as they arise.
  • Assist theHR team in the development and revision of personnel policies and procedures and communicate as necessary.
  • Assist withthe writing and distribution of the monthly HR newsletter.
  • Recommendpolicy and/or practice changes to align organizational values with employee behavior ensuring that the organization fosters a positive and productive work environment.
  • Cofacilitatethe New Employee Orientation (NEO) program for new hires.
  • Partnerwith Payroll HRIS Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for employees.
  • Assist withprocessing terminations and other HRIS actions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources is preferred or equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • 2 years of related HR generalist experience.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles practices and procedures.
  • Excellent recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work comfortably under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent computer literacy with capability in email and related HR software programs.
  • Understanding of labor law and employment equity regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to function well in a fastpaced at times stressful environment.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Project and/or Access).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1B status).

Preferred Knowledge Skills Abilities or Certifications:

  • Experience with HRIS system UKG.
  • Human Resources certification i.e. SHRMCP PHR etc.

Travel Requirements:

  • No travel required.

Overtime/Additional Hours Requirements:

  • May be requested to work overtime on evenings and weekends dependent on business need.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Performs indoor work in a climatecontrolled environment.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
