Job Description
Position Title: Restaurant Server La Carte Dining Harborside Grill Dining
Department: Dining Operations
Division: Food and Beverage
Reports to: Dining Room Captain/Supervisor Food and Beverage Director
Supervises: None

Position Summary: The position is responsible for daily food service with a high of professionalism and hospitality. Servers will provide premium service for members and their guests abiding by the service standards of the Club. They will be expected to have a solid understanding of fine dining and tableside service. The service staff will also be expected to go above and beyond to deliver memorable events while bringing a high level of energy and professionalism.
Employment Status: Most new and returning employees are hired under a seasonal employment status. Seasonal employees can typically expect a consistent schedule from approximately April to October each year. At the end of each respective season employees are encouraged to submit requests to transition to either yearround parttime or fulltime status. Approval of these requests will be contingent upon the needs of the Club and the employees performance track record.
Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience
- Two or more years of experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including key holidays evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Physical capability to withstand prolonged periods of standing walking bending reaching and twisting
- Ability to consistently lift over 50 lbs
- Valid drivers license and a clean criminal record
Duties:
- Serve as a positive role model by:
- Embodying Club values and high standards that all members and staff are expected to uphold
- Effectively utilizing the various digital platforms used by the Club
- Maintaining a collaborative and friendly demeanor while working to improve the member experience
- Always representing the Club well
- Provide key assistance to the Club by:
- Exceeding the expectations of members and their guests while representing the Club to the highest standards
- Inspecting service areas prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available
- Knowledge of menu menu enhancements and preparation methods
- Understanding of unique and complementary flavor pairings
- Constant awareness of restaurant flow
- Impeccable service and social perceptiveness
- Ability to evaluate guest satisfaction and responsiveness
- Collecting checks and payments for items served
- Carefully following all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service
- Slowing and refusing alcoholic verbiage service when necessary
- Continually seek to enhanced knowledge and skills related to service
- Maintaining selfawareness of members management and peers
- Evaluation criteria include but are not limited to:
- Successful alignment with Club values and professional standards
- Exhibiting a collaborative spirit when working with members and staff
- Demonstrating the ability to make appropriate choices especially in stressful situations
- Maintaining good hygiene and a professional appearance
