The Center for Ethics at the Murphy Institute at Tulane University invites applications for three Faculty Fellowships/Visiting Research Professorships for the academic year. These fellowships are available to support outstanding faculty whose teaching and research focus on ethics; political and social philosophy; moral psychology agency and responsibility; philosophy of law; political theory; or questions of moral choice in areas such as but not restricted to business government law economics public health and medicine.
While fellows will participate in seminars lectures and conferences organized by the Murphy Institute they will be expected to devote most of their time to conducting their research.
Faculty Fellows are appointed as Visiting Research Professors at Tulane Universitys Murphy Institute receive a salary of $70000 and are eligible for faculty benefits including medical insurance. Faculty Fellows enjoy the use of private faculty offices and receive assistance from the Murphy Institute staff and graduate assistants. The Murphy Institutes Center for Ethics is one of the most active in the country hosting fourteen guest speakers and sponsoring international conferences each year.
We encourage applicants from a broad range of disciplines. Applicants must hold a doctorate in philosophy political theory law political economy economics public health or a related discipline at the time of application. Applicants must also hold a fulltime college or university appointment at the time of application. Faculty Fellowships are open to fulltime faculty at all ranks.
