Job Description

POSITION: Maintenance WorkerI

LOCATION:District Wide As Assigned

REPORTS TO: FacilitySupervisor

JOB GOAL:

To assist the FacilitySupervisorin maintaining a safe and clean school environment for students and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Arizona Drivers License
  • Able and willing to work in a team atmosphere

  • Ability to work with staff teachers and students at various educational levels
  • Proficient communicator with excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all levels of district staff and with a diverse community

  • Ability to lead others

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work closely with and maintain open communication with the FacilitySupervisorto provide safe and positive student and staff environment.
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts bearings gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus such as transformers and wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out assembles installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gauges valves pressure regulators and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Repairs fences gates walls and walks paints fences and outbuildings.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe grinder drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts jigs and fixtures and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters benches partitions and other wooden structures.
  • Ability to drive white fleet vehicles.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • 12month Hourly/NonExempt position under FLSA. Placement on Classified salary schedule by the Director of Human Resources dependent upon education and experience
  • Benefits All approved benefits for Classified Employees
  • Must pass Department ofPublic Safety Fingerprint clearance check.
  • Must beUnited Statescitizen or have valid work visa at date of hire with the ability to maintain. All changes in visa status must be reported to Human Resources immediately. Photo identification and work visa (if necessary) will be needed for fingerprint clearance card and I9 documentation prior to first day of work.

EVALUATION:

  • Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

  • Proof of Mumps Measles and Rubella (MMR) vaccination.
  • Valid government issued identificationor current work visa with expiration date.
  • Unofficial copies of transcripts will be accepted with applicationsofficial transcripts will be due upon job offer*

*Transcriptsissuedin alanguageotherthan Englishmustbeaccompaniedby a fulltranslation wordforword)byanacceptable translator. Additionallyeachforeigntranscriptmustbeevaluated forequivalencyto United Statesaccreditedcourseworkbyanacceptableagencysuchasthoseagenciescertifiedbythe National Associationof Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).Applicationscontaining foreign transcripts thatare notaccompaniedwith theabove required documentationwill notbeconsidered.
