Job Description

The HR Generalist I assists in various Human Resources functions including recruiting onboarding training benefits and employee relations efforts. This role involves coordinating benefit and compensation programs maintaining compliance with employment regulations and ensuring accurate and confidential recordkeeping. The HR Generalist I also supports licensing and orientation while acting as a liaison between employees and federal/state agencies. Providing exceptional customer service this role ensures effective communication of company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

  • Identify and recommend pay rates benefit plans and incentive programs.
  • Assist recruitment efforts including trafficking candidates and sending offer letters.
  • Manage onboarding processes including new hire orientation licensing and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain employee records ensuring accuracy confidentiality and compliance with federal and state employment laws.
  • Administer and communicate benefit and retirement plans; collaborate with external providers for seamless management.
  • Maintain the HRIS and ensure HIPAA compliance and system security.
  • Develop and update orientation programs and documents as needed.
  • Assist with termination and offboarding procedures.
  • Communicate employee policies and benefits effectively throughout the hiring and employment processes.
  • Provide administrative support including word processing filing and managing communications.
  • Work cohesively and collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Requirements

Physical and Mental:

Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to stand stoops bend reach and walk. Ability to lift 10 lbs. Ability to understand and communicate both verbally and written in English. Ability to follow directions. Basic reading writing and arithmetic skills required. Other duties as assigned.

Work/Educational Experience:

  • Must be at least 18 years old possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management
    • OR Two 2 years related human resources work and/or educational experience
  • One 1 years related human resources work and/or educational experience
