THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO ALASKA COURT SYSTEM EMPLOYEES ONLY


The Palmer Trial Court is accepting applications for Chief Deputy Clerk 2 (salary range 16. Under the general direction of the Clerk of Court this position will provide supervisory technical and training support to nonjudicial staff at the Palmer Trial Court.



The Position
This position assists the Clerk of Court in managing Palmer trial court divisions with responsibilities including analysis and recommendations for improvements to clerical operations and the development of new procedures. The Chief Deputy Clerk 2 directly supervises the weekend and Criminal/Civil Records Court Case Manager 1 overseeing workflow work allocation and employee evaluations.

Additional duties include coordinating facility maintenance needs assuming supervisory responsibilities during the supervisors absence and serving as acting Clerk of Court when required including exercising signature authority.

The position also manages training for Palmer court staff ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements set by the Office of the Administrative Director Presiding Judge Area Court Administrator and Clerk of Court. Training areas include customer service harassment prevention diversity technical skills and case processing.


The WorkHours

Fulltime court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a onehour lunch break.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate AND two years of technical or professional legal work experience with the Alaska Court System a law firm or justice agency AND one year of work experience supervising clerical technical or professional employees.

OR

A bachelors degree from an accredited college AND one year of work experience supervising clerical technical or professional employees.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
