At the same time CompTIA learning content is at the heart of our delivery we will provide you with the knowledge for your Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship. By using CompTIA practice learn and labs provided to you as part of your apprenticeship youll be able to prepare yourselves for the following exams:

  • CompTIA A (Exam 1 and 2
  • CompTIA Cloud Essentials
We are recruiting on behalf of an IT Support Companywhere you will gain valuable experience as aLevel 3 Information Communications Technician following the Support Technician pathway. We pride ourselves on the support we give our apprentices you wont be left on your own to figure things out we will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey together with your employer!

Please note that you MUST be a driver who holds a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle to apply for this role as it will be split across a number of schools in Telford and will occasionally travel to Shropshire.

What you will be doing:
  • Installation & Preparation of new IT Hardware & Infrastructure
  • Maintain an asset register
  • Management of call queue ensuring calls closed in timely fashion
  • Escalation of calls to 3rd line team where necessary
  • Regular work alongside 3rd line and other teams for project delivery
  • Perform software rebuilds of laptops & PCs where needed
  • Working with products in the Microsoft suite. Including Microsoft Teams
  • Assisting users in understanding new technologies and ways of working
  • Advising on hardware procurement.
Support Technician Duties:
  • Install and configure relevant software and hardware as appropriate for example: mobile apps printers projectors scanners and cameras.
  • Address IT issues by prioritising in response to customer service level agreements
  • Administer security access requirements and permissions for stakeholders escalating as necessary for example password resets
  • Support the roll out of upgrades or new systems or applications

The training youll be provided with:
  • Comprehensive introductory modules to technical concepts
  • Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard
  • Training for all pathways of your IT career (support technician network technician digital communications technician)
  • Specialising in a portfolio of evidence for the Support Technician pathway
  • elearning training materials
  • Biweekly virtual classroom training on all options of the apprenticeships;
  • Access to virtual labs to develop technical competency
  • Monthly workbased coaches visits and competency checks
  • 9 am 5 pm Support desk for technical support
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Key Skills development
  • Option for vendor and technical certificates e.g. CompTIA
You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other!
As one of our apprentices you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give realtime advice and support.

Working Week:
Full time Monday to Friday 37 hours per week. 8:30am to 4:30pm with a 30 minute lunch

Salary:
16500 per annum for the first 12 months. The remaining 10 months of the programme will be paid at the National Minimum Wage for your age if above 16500.

An allowance of 15p per mile is provided towards travel expenses.
Desired Qualifications:
We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths.
Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications you must be able to provide an official document stating how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications at the time of your application.

Expected Duration:
15 months and 4 Months End Point Assessment
