Job Description
Position : Mechanical Engineering Technician
Location : San Diego CA
Duration : 12 Months Contract
Total Hours/week : 40.00
1st shift
Description:
The Engineering Technician will perform the following duties:
- Assist Engineers as they create modify and test products and processes
- Operate and maintain test equipment
- Use typical hand tools to build and setup equipment using drawings and other documentation
- Use complex measurement equipment to collect and record data
- of designed test protocol and conduct testing
- Works with team to organize lab functions & test equipment
- Notifies manager upon recognition of factors that may affect project
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED
- A combination of equivalent education and experience or a minimum of training beyond high school or secondary school in a technical discipline with more than 2 years relevant experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity of electromechanical devices.
- Proficiency with personal computers
- Experience using MS Word Excel & PowerPoint
- Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures
- Good organizational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to follow directions and effectively execute written and verbal instructions
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in crossfunctional teams
- Experience using test equipment such as an Instron for tensile and compression testing
