Miller Pipeline is looking to add a Welder familiar with steel pipeline to their team in Ocala FL. The candidate must be able to pass the utility company welding test(s).
Main Responsibilities:
- Manually guide welding gun along weld line to form specified depth of fusion and bead as judged from color of metal sound of weld and size of molted puddle.
- Weld in flat horizontal vertical or overhead positions.
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Apply filler rod manually to supply weld metal.
- Clean or degrease weld joints or work piece(s).
- Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
- Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
- Chip off excess weld slag and splatter.
- Preheat work piece with hand torch or heating furnace.
- Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture.
- Tack together assemblies.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High level of personal integrity and accountability.
- Valid drivers license with good driving record.
- Own and operate your own welding rig (rig pay and per diem will be provided)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class A CDL
- Civil roadway/highway or natural gas project experience
