Position Summary
The Housekeeper/Custodian will have janitorial duties as well as operations and maintenance responsibilities including the general upkeep of the grounds and the facilities. Working with the Operation Manager he/she will ensure that Hope Harbor Center is a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a clean safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.
- Client all resident rooms as assigned. (some daily)
- Clean all offices as assigned.
- Mop Strip buff and wax and/or vacuum all floors including common areas and hallways
- Clean kitchen / dining room area as needed.
- Store and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Maintain grounds all areas of property.
- Assist with building maintenance: painting and performing light repair work
- Report any inappropriate behavior on the grounds to the Management.
- Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
- Operations: Pick up supplies as needed.
- Organize and maintain client patio area and exercise area.
- Clean shared Restrooms and Showers daily.
- Pressure wash front entrance windows walls and floors as needed.
- Empty all trash daily.
- Assist on special events community events classes groups and meetings in cleaning setting up and breaking down.
- Perform all duties with courtesy and respect maintaining a healthy relationship with the staff and clients.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisors Operations Manager Program Manager or Director.
Working Conditions
Ability to walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp push pull objects such as files file cabinet drawers and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School education or equivalent.
- Minimum oneyear experience in janitorial and grounds maintenance.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Flexibility of hours.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge of proper usage of cleaning chemicals as complying with Cal / OSHA regulations.
- Knowledge in Janitorial work
- Knowledge in use of hand tools and power tools
- Must be able to pass background check
