Primary Purpose:
Direct and manage districts transportation and vehicle maintenance program. Oversee maintenance of all districtowned vehicles. Ensure safe and efficient operation of transportation department. Provide for the security and protection of all students staff and property. Develop programs and provide services which promote a safe and orderly environment for all students in school and on school buses. Develop accident prevention procedures and programs. Ensure compliance with all state and federal statues relating to safety. Revise and maintain the districts Crisis Management Plan.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to direct and manage operations of a large fleet of vehicles
Knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance
Knowledge of health and safety programs
Knowledge of school law Texas Education Agency rules and School Board policies and regulations
Ability to interpret and disseminate information to individual and groups
Ability to provide effective safety training programs
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
Maintain CDL
Experience:
Prefer two years of supervisory experience in transportation operations safety management occupational safety and health crisis management preferably with public school districts.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting carrying stooping kneeling and reaching.
Motion: Moderate walking standing climbing Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Heavy lifting
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; ability to conduct onsite inspections of all vehicle repair and maintenance operations. Coordinate district efforts in crises events.
