JOB Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION Lincolnshire
TERM Permanent
SALARY 35000 to 45000 per annum
Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company based in Lincolnshire. They are looking to expand their design team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on an exciting range of projects in specialpurpose machinery and other sectors.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering (BEng MEng HND HNC etc..
- Strong experience in mechanical design ideally within specialpurpose machinery or related fields.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining welding and fabrication.
- Experience with creating and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach to problemsolving and attention to detail.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Designing and developing mechanical systems and components for a variety of projects.
- Creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensuring designs are ready for manufacturing.
- Collaborating with the engineering and production teams to ensure project success.
- Conducting design reviews testing and validation of new and existing designs.
- Identifying and implementing design improvements for performance and cost efficiency.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
