Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager
Job Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for managing and servicing a diverse portfolio of employee benefit programs ensuring the delivery of highquality service and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will be highly organized detailoriented and possess excellent communication skills to work with both clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong longlasting relationships with clients ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and provide guidance on employee benefits plans.
Lead regular meetings with clients to review benefits offerings address issues and identify opportunities for improvement or enhancement.
Benefits Program Management:
Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs including health dental vision life insurance retirement plans and wellness initiatives.
Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations and keep clients informed of any regulatory changes affecting their benefits offerings.
Provide guidance on plan design funding strategies and costsaving initiatives.
Renewals & Open Enrollment Support:
Manage the annual renewal process for benefits plans including negotiation with carriers preparing presentations and coordinating open enrollment.
Ensure timely communication with clients and employees during the open enrollment period helping to address any issues or questions.
Claims and Issue Resolution:
Troubleshoot and resolve any claims billing or administrative issues for clients in a timely and efficient manner.
Serve as an escalation point for complex issues and work with internal teams and external carriers to resolve concerns.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
Mentor and train junior staff or Account Managers to ensure effective team operations and the development of new talent within the organization.
Collaborate with internal departments including underwriting compliance and claims to ensure optimal service delivery.
Reporting and Analytics:
Prepare and present regular reports and analytics to clients regarding their benefits utilization plan performance and any other relevant metrics.
Work with clients to interpret reports and make recommendations for optimizing their benefits programs.
Business Development:
Identify opportunities for expanding existing client relationships through the introduction of new benefits services or programs.
Assist in preparing proposals and participating in client pitches for new business.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business Human Resources or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 57 years of experience in employee benefits account management ideally in a senior role.
Indepth knowledge of employee benefits plans (health dental vision life retirement etc. and related laws and regulations (ERISA HIPAA ACA etc..
Strong negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fastpaced environment.
Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word PowerPoint) and benefits management software.
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) Health Insurance Associate (HIA) or similar professional certification (preferred).
