Job Description

Fahrenheit Advisors is partnering with Groome Transportation in their search for a Financial Analyst to join their team. A successful person in this role will possess attention to detail technical knowledge communication and organizational skills and will demonstrate the ability to work both independently and within a team environment. The position is located at the corporate office in Richmond VA.

Headquartered in Richmond Virginia and operating across 16 states Groome Transportation is a very successful specialty ground transportation company providing (i) medium to longhaul scheduled van service between major airport hubs and distant regional markets (the Airport Shuttle segment) and (ii) closedloop campus shuttle services contracted with academic and institutional clients (the Contract segment). Groome generates bestinclass profitability reflecting the value of its services to its customers and its efficient operations. Historically Groome has made numerous acquisitions to grow its operations across the US. With the backing of Cortec Group a premier private equity firm Groome is seeking to expand its team to manage its organic growth and to continue executing an aggressive acquisition strategy.

The Position:

Groome is seeking to fill the position of FP&A Analyst who will facilitate the scalability of the business by playing a supporting role in financial reporting; financial systems management; budgeting and planning; working capital and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a senior analyst in dynamic fastpaced environments. He/she must have a detailed understanding of financial and operating metrics and the levers that drive profitability. The FP&A Analyst must be effective working with all functional leadership within Groome including CFO COO and CEO. A successful person in this role will possess attention to detail technical knowledge communication and organizational skills. This will be an individual contributor role located in Richmond VA.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare weekly monthly and quarterly reporting packages to various stakeholders: management lenders investors
  • Assist the CFO with the preparation of materials for monthly operations team meetings
  • Design present and monitor timely and relevant reporting dashboards and benchmarks to support and drive strategic and operational decisionmaking
  • Work with Corporate Controller and CFO to ensure migration to systemdriven reporting environment
  • Obtain financial and nonfinancial data from various sources and present in single reporting platform

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Design and oversee effective consolidated budget model
  • Assist in annual budgeting process and work with functional areas by providing meaningful data
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting team to manage and improve cash flow forecasting process

Financial Analysis

  • Provide analysis on key metrics as well as actual financial results vs. budget and prior year for the review with internal stakeholders
  • Support and advise senior management with insightful ad hoc financial analysis supporting operational efficiencies and driving profitable growth
  • Refine financial models to evaluate new business opportunities for the Contract and Shuttle segments. Support Sales and Business Development in the preparation of business cases for internal review.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Accounting Finance or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience in analytical or managerial position
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and managing large Excel based models and data sets required
  • Experience with data analysis data consolidation and business intelligence tools and systems (Power BI Tableau Visual Basics SQL)
  • Handson knowledge of ERP systems
  • History of driving initiatives of continuous process improvements
  • Detailoriented ensuring impeccable quality of work
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team and external stakeholders
  • Selfmotivated and selfdirected
  • Unquestioned ethics and integrity
