Position Summary
GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer with a passion for building high
performance low maintenance zerodowntime platforms and applications. You will
help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional
IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission while co
creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.
Position Description
Our Senior Engineer is a key member of the engineering staff working across the
organization to provide a frictionless experience to our customers and maintain
the highest standards of protection and availability. Our team thrives and succeeds
in delivering high quality technology products and services in a hypergrowth
environment where priorities shift quickly. The ideal candidate has broad and deep
technical knowledge typically ranging from frontend UIs through backend
systems and all points in between.
Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer you will:
- Team up with architects scrum masters leads managers and directors you will work in an Agile environment for Identity & Access Management organizations needs.
- You will be working in a team to build our next generation of Identity platform in Azure.
- You will be trailblazing to apply Software Development techniques such as Automated Testing and CI/CD to building software products.
- Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design develop test implement and support technical solutions in fullstack development tools and technologies.
- Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed elegantly coded and effectively tuned for performance
- You should be intellectually curious have a solutionsoriented attitude and enjoy learning new tools and techniques.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging identity trends technologies and best practices and apply this knowledge to enhance GEICOs data protection strategies
Qualifications
- Experience with designing developing implementing and maintaining solutions for microservices.
- Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
- Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches
- Ability to excel in a fastpaced startuplike environment
- Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management source code building deployment operations realtime communication)
- Experience with microservicesoriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
- Experience building the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Fluency in DevOps Concepts Cloud Architecture and Azure DevOps Operational Framework
- Fluency and specialization with at least one modern language such as Python Java Go or Rust
- Strong problemsolving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities
- Excellent communication skills able to communicate complete technical concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Experience
- 4 years of professional experience in software engineering
- 2 years of experience with security identity architecture and design
- 2 years of experience with opensource frameworks is desired
- 2 years of experience with AWS GCP Azure or another cloud service
Education
- Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$90000.00 $215000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role the selected candidates work experience education and training the work location as well as market and business considerations.
