Position Summary
The following job description details the scope of responsibility and specific areas of responsibility regarding the Server position. The Senior Food and Beverage Manager has the authority to add to take from or otherwise change the scope of responsibilities as necessary to properly manage the daytoday operation of the Big Canoe Property Owners Association (POA).
This position requires a positive attitude at all times a willingness to help others and above all else a desire to satisfy our members and their guests. A professional appearance of clean and pressed uniform excellent hygiene and good grooming is necessary for this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Adheres to established rules and regulations of Big Canoe POA while working scheduled shifts. Maintain highest level of service for dining room bar/lounge area and banquet functions. Maintain highest level of cleanliness and good repair of all dining rooms service workstations dining utensils equipment and glassware including common and storage areas. Follows all guidelines in the clubhouse service procedure handbook. Including instructions on table setting order taking and sequence of service. Knowledge of Big Canoe information (hours of operation etc.. Practice Teamwork. Maintains positive attitude with all staff and members. Greet all members by name when possible. Maintain eye contact and use proper vocabulary when speaking with members. Avoid all negative comments. Maintains a wellgroomed appearance and proper cleaned pressed uniform at all times. Advises dining room supervisor or manager of any complaints immediately. Knowledge of all menu items daily/monthly specials wine list preparation methods ingredients and garnish. Completes all daily side duty assignments. Sets up and tears down all dining and buffet tables for banquet/club functions. To include moving of furniture chairs and tables. Knowledge of role during emergency situations. Aware of fire and life safety procedures. Knowledge of POS system. Able to open/close checks and use this system to successfully communicate food orders to the kitchen in a timely manner. Update daily special information. Produces daily reports and evening closing reports. Have a working knowledge of Credit Card procedures. Have the ability to execute all service types successfully i.e. Russian French American Banquet etc. Possesses a competent knowledge of wines and spirits. Stays current with wine and bar trends and Georgia laws. Maintains complete and secure inventory of all liquor beer mixers and garnish. Includes receiving stocking of liquor and beer and keeping established pars. Ability to stand for long periods of time bending reaching and the ability to carry trays of food weighing 2550 pounds at times is required. Secures Clubhouse at the end of business day according to procedures. Anticipation and compliance of the members needs by providing them with immediate attention. Displays a sense of urgency with all tasks. Performs other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS High School diploma or its equivalent is preferred Oneyear experience with a casual restaurant concept as a server Basic understanding of the written and spoken English language Organizational skills Detailed oriented Basic math skills SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Must be 18 Must be able to obtain a Server Permit if required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENT Must be able to stand for long periods of time Be able to lift pull and push up to 50 pounds as needed Continuous standing walking and repetitive actions Frequent bending pulling and lifting Change out empty beer kegs Heat sensitive environment
Must be authorized to work in the US. This position does not pay any relocation fees.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. For the most part ambient room temperatures lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
