We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller with a clear path to becoming Controller for a growing company in the Castroville area. Manage the general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable with precision and accuracy
Develop and implement robust budgeting and forecasting processes
Conduct indepth financial analysis and create insightful reports for executive management
2. Operational Oversight
Lead the daytoday operations of the accounting department ensuring efficiency and compliance
Prepare and oversee WorkinProgress (WIP) reporting crucial for construction project management
Generate and submit monthly sales tax and payroll tax reports in a timely manner
3. Strategic Advisory
Provide expert financial advice and guidance to management supporting informed decisionmaking
Identify areas for financial improvement and implement costsaving measures
Collaborate with other departments to align financial strategies with overall business objectives
4. Compliance and Controls
Ensure adherence to GAAP and industryspecific accounting standards
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets
Stay updated on relevant tax laws and regulations particularly those affecting the construction and HVAC industries
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience in the construction industry
Extensive knowledge of HVAC industry accounting practices and regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills
Experience with constructionspecific accounting software preferably ComputerEase
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills capable of effectively presenting to all levels of management
Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and developing accounting teams
Detailoriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines
Adaptable and innovative with the ability to thrive in a fastpaced growing company environment
