Donor Prospecting Officer

The Donor Prospecting Officer will support the fundraising efforts of the prospecting team and the ministry through strategic donor research and prospect cultivation to the end that non or annual donors become mid or major donors. A successful Donor Prospecting Officer will raise new donation revenue commensurate with significant growth in new mid and major donors and associated revenue. - Cultivate donor relationships through gift acknowledgments soliciting new donations and corresponding with current supporters and donor prospects with the goal of helping the ministry meet its outreach needs. This includes raising support for general operations capital campaigns and designated gift projects. Donor contacts gift acknowledgments and solicitations will be made through writing phoning virtual meetings emailing and event participation.
- Achieve agreedupon fundraising targets and outcomes within the schedule.
- Maintain proficiency with CRM and webbased tools for research prospecting and analytics.
- Strategize and pursue current donors and donor prospects for mid or major gifts through research moves management and utilizing timely information related to various fundraising efforts. Regularly keep the team lead updated on the fundraising progress via custom reporting.
- Learn the various common noncash giving options and assist in planned giving IRA stock and other types of donations.
- Update the donor database daily to record contact notes and to expand donor profiles.
- Participate in regularly scheduled teleconference meetings with the prospecting team review plan learn and evaluate fundraising strategies and efforts to improve results. Meet regularly with the team lead to develop new and accentuated strategies assess progress enhance fundraising efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate and meet as necessary with the team lead to support overall fundraising efforts planned giving capital campaign conferencing and donor event efforts.
- Make recommendations to improve department activities and advise the team lead of challenges hindering performance.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of advancementrelated expenses mileage invoices purchase orders etc. for department budget and reimbursement purposes as needed.
- Support and participate in special events and fundraising projects as assigned.
- Additional special projects may be assigned as necessary to enhance the fundraising efforts.
Required Skills/Abilities - Agreement with the Ligonier Ministries Core Statement of Faith.
- Agreement with the Ligonier Ministries Standards of Conduct.
- Demonstrated passion for Ligonier and a knowledge of Ligoniers various outreaches and programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel along with the donor database and webbased tools for research prospecting data analysis and analytics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of corporate constituent faculty student and employee information per Ligoniers policies.
- Meet the attendance requirements of the position.
- Availability to travel throughout the U.S. to attend conferences and events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word mail merge functionality with Outlook for highvolume email communications with donors.
- Effective time management skills to work efficiently with highvolume email phone web meetings letters and text communications to engage large numbers of donors regularly.
- Proficiency in proactively planning implementing and measuring engagement strategies on a quarterly biannual and annual basis with the ability to adapt based on progress to achieve goals.
Education and Experience - Minimum of 2 years experience with successful results in fundraising and/or sales caseload management including prospecting.
- Bachelors degree or higher preferred.
This is designed to be an inperson role on our campus in Sanford Florida; however a hybrid arrangement may be available for the right candidate. This position is for a nonprofit Christian organization located in Sanford FL. At this time we are only able to hire individuals who are authorized to work in the United States. The pay range for this position is $28.00 $36.00 hourly. Pay ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably believe we would pay for this role at the time of posting. We may ultimately offer more or less than the posted range and the ranges may be modified in the future. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience geographic location and organizational needs.
