Job Description
The Software Automation Engineer will be responsible for managing engineering and estimating direct digital controls DDC projects on campus for card access temperature controls lighting controls and utility monitoring. The Automation Engineer will coordinate and communicate with University departments and outside vendors to deliver projects in a timely manner. This position will diagnose and troubleshoot building automation issues on campus.
Responsibilities
Design develop program and implement application and database solutions for the campus building automation system(s). Manage engineer and estimate DDC control projects on campus for Orange Automation. Project Management and includes: campus Card Access temperature controls lighting controls utility monitoring and RS485 network & infrastructure design. Engineering duties include: Proper valve sizing for flow GPM and CV. Damper selection types and sizing of actuators both electronic and pneumatic. Proper power supply sizing for both AC and DC application for HVAC as well as Card Access. Design produce test implement and maintain software systems under various application software languages platforms and protocols to support the systems. Provide advanced troubleshooting support for the Campus DDC / HVAC lighting and card access system via automation/web programming. Coordinate and schedule necessary resources for a project with University Departments and outside vendors to deliver projects in a timely manner. Train University staff and building occupants on projects implemented.
