Job Description
Schoolbased ProgramsInterns
Global Kids is an organization dedicated to developing youth leaders for the global stage and empowering young people to become community leaders. Global Kids (GK)educates inspires and mobilizes youth to become global citizens who are positively engaged in the world and are prepared for their future. The Global Kids School Program Intern will report to an onsite director and assist with onsite support for our High School Community Elementary and Middle School programs. Responsibilities include administrative tasks planning and coleading student activities. Programs encompass lunch clubs Leadership and College and Career Readiness initiatives. The intern will make a meaningful impact on the lives of youth.
SpecificDuties andResponsibilities
- Preparingmaterials for workshops
- Supportingprogram facilitation
- Trackingattendanceand student notes
- Studentoutreach and recruitment
- Research
- Cofacilitated workshops
- Maintain studenttofacilitator ratio
- Other duties as needed or developed based on the interns skills and interests.
Qualifications:
- Some college Interns should be enrolled in an interncredited course.
- Experience or interest in working with youth and using interactive learning strategies in a culturally diverse setting
- Facilitation consensusbuilding and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic initiative creativity willingness to learn and ability to juggle multiple tasks independently. Strong communication writing organizational and technology skills.
- Additional Requirements:Interns will need fingerprints through the Department of Education.A socialsecuritycard is required for DOE fingerprints.
Hours& Location
- Schedule:Internships are available MF from9:00 pm 5:00 pm(a minimum of 8 hours per week is required but the schedule is flexible and can be arranged based on intern availabilities and program needs).
- Some schedules are flexible based on candidates needs.
- Location:In person at DC schools. DC locations may vary from school to school. Candidates will receive specific location details during the hiring process.
