Job Description
Minimum Requirements:
Master Degree Program / Doctorate Degree Program enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Mechanical Engineering or related
A minimum overall 3.0 GPA
Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

PhD Internships PostCandidacy $35.95/hour $38.41/hour)

In this paid internship you will benchmark computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of nuclear fuels that utilize triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) geometries. Significant heat transfer enhancement has been demonstrated in fluidfluid heat exchangers that incorporate TPMS structures and understanding the truly threedimensional nature of these complex geometries requires state of the art CFD simulations. The focus of this internship will be benchmarking these CFD simulations against experimental thermalhydraulics data to predict performance of triply periodic nuclear fuel. Reporting to the Thermal Mechanical Analysis group. This team works a 9x80 schedule and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.
