Job Description

The School of Education at Nevada State University invites applications for a 9month nontenure track Assistant Professor in Residence School Psychology to begin on October 1 2025. The individual in this position will teach graduate level courses in School Psychology in the postbaccalaureate program. Courses will include but not be limited to: Cultural Ecological Model in School Psychology Integrated Supports and Understanding Student Risk Evidence Based Interventions to Promote Mental Health and Crisis Prevention and Intervention for Children and Youth.

This position is grant funded throughSeptember 30 2027.Any continuation in this position will be based on additional grant funding.

About the School of Education at Nevada State University

Nevada State University especially the School of Education (SOE) is an exciting place to work! Housed in the awardwinning Christensen Education Building a diverse and growing faculty works to address critical shortages in Nevada including PK12 teachers speech pathologists and school psychologists. Our faculty are committed to excellence in teaching. More than 1000 undergraduate postbaccalaureate and graduate students are currently pursuing their degree and/or licensure in the SOE. Extensive systems to support the success of SOE students have been implemented. The SOE partners with local high schools to grow the teacher pipeline with Teacher Academies as well as our onsite Early Childhood Education Center. Additionally the SOE has articulation agreements with Nevadas twoyear colleges. The SOE houses two graduate programs the M.Ed. in Speech Language Pathology and an Ed.S. in School Psychology.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach 24 credits per academic year which amounts to four courses per semester.
  • Teach courses in a variety of formats (e.g. inperson hybrid online accelerated).
  • Serve on school and collegewide committees.
  • Engage in scholarly activity within your discipline or in the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Schoolbased Mental Health or related field.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employmentrelated visas).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a School Psychologist by the Nevada Department of Education.
  • Minimum of three years of school psychology practitioner experience in PK12 settings.
  • Teaching experience in higher education in particular asynchronous courses.
  • Experience with program and curriculum and development in higher education.
  • Willingness to collaborate internally and externally to promote and recruit for the postbaccalaureate program.

Rank Salary & Benefits:

9month. Nontenure track. Salary commensurate with experience.
