Job Description
The School of Community Resources and Development (SCRD) in the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University invites applications for Faculty Associate positions for theacademic year. Faculty Associates are parttime adjunct faculty who are hired on a onesemester renewable contract to teach one or two courses (not to exceed 0.40 FTE) per semester either inperson or online.
Faculty Associate positions are fixedterm appointments that are not eligible for benefits sabbaticals or tenure. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Official transcripts are required prior to employment. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple nonbenefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.
For this position we seek to attract an active culturally and academically diverse pool of qualified people who are available to teach inperson and/or online courses on ASUs campus in Downtown Phoenix or Tempe.

SCRD is located at ASUs Downtown Phoenix campus a dynamic hub of the multicampus Arizona State University that provides a multitude of academic and professional connections for students. We provide internationally recognized interdisciplinary research expertise and innovative academic programs in community development therapeutic recreation nonprofit leadership and management parks recreation and sport management and tourism development and management. Courses are delivered through inperson online and hybrid platforms.
Job Responsibilities
The role requires someone who can deliver engaging inperson and/or online lectures discussions and content contribute to the creation of assignments and exams evaluate and grade student work manage Canvas learning management platform and hold office hours to assist students. Nonprofit Leadership and Management (NLM) courses are developed and have been taught multiple times with a welldefined syllabus outlining purpose content readings and assignments. NLM courses are aligned withCurricular Guidelines of the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council(NACC). The SCRD has earned NACC accreditation for both undergraduate and graduate NLM Degrees. Local applicants may teach either online or inperson courses. Worldwide applicants may apply to teach online courses. Required Qualifications
- An earned masters degree in nonprofit leadership and management educational leadership public administration or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.
- Three years of related experience (Prior college level teaching and/or pertinent practitioner experience that involves developing and/or providing training and development workshops/courses to adult learners).
- Consistent with ASUs Charter a demonstrated commitment to inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior higher education teaching or guest lecturing experience preferred.
- Experience facilitating studentled classroom and/or online discussions.
- Prior online teaching experience.
- Evidence of effective collaboration skills.
- Experience with technology/course management systems.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
