Job Description
Ready to make an impact in your community while getting paid Become an early childhood substitute teacher with Kokua in Chicago IL and create powerful moments that shift students perception of whats possible.
We are currently hiring for a longterm early childhood substitute teacher to support one of our partner schools in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago. This position allows you to teach 5 days/week at the same school.
In case youre wondering its pronounced KohKOOah. In Hawaiian Kokua means to come together to fulfill a need and were excited to have you join us in connecting students with classroom role models who can empower them to be their best.

Youll need:
- 6 months experience working with PreK students
- Bachelors Degree (required)
- IL Professional Educators License (required)
- Current residence in or willingness to commute to Chicago specifically the West side
- Confidence to manage a classroom of students ages 3 to 5
- Ability to pass state & federal background check
- Please note: there is an outofpocket fee to obtain the background check but Kokua will reimburse for this after teaching 10 days in the classroom.
- Have reliable means of transportation
