The BlackBerry Radar team are hiring!
The BlackBerry IoT Business Unit combines BlackBerrys core IoT assets across the company. One of groups within the IoT Business Unit is BlackBerry Radar which is an innovative service for managing and optimizing fleet operations for businesses in the transportation sector. Solving our customers most common transportation and logistics challenges BlackBerryRadar can be used for tracking trailers intermodal containers & chassis equipment railcars and more.
All BlackBerry Radar tracking data is secured with BlackBerry encryption and authentication services; the devices are powered by BlackBerryQNX our OS for embedded systems. BlackBerry Radar devices are rugged and low maintenance equipped with batteries that can last as much as five years.
The BlackBerry Radar Cloud Services Development team is focused on developing asset tracking software services that will be used by businesses that rent or own railcar chassis trailers and/or cargo carrying containers. The service allows customers to manage their Radar equipped fleet by providing location tracking a host of rich sensor readings alerts on meaningful events analytics on their behavioral data integration into other backoffice systems such as transportation management systems and much more.
Are you the person we are looking for
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer with a strong emphasis on Back End development using Node.js / Express with a focus on microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in building scalable web applications and a keen interest in contributing to both Front End and Server Side development. You will be responsible for designing and developing endtoend applications hosted on AWS while driving quality through testing and best practices. You will:
- Conduct Back End development using Node.js / Express by being able to design and develop endtoend scalable web applications hosted on AWS services using modern technologies and tools including Node.js Serverless NATS Elasticsearch MySQL and Redis implementing backend database schemas while leveraging the latest JavaScript features.
- Have interest and willingness to participate in Front End development by implementing user interfaces on React is desired.
- Write unit and integration tests to continually improve quality and ensure our ability to introduce features at a rapid pace.
- Lead technological initiatives and complex tasks while instilling development best practices.
- Own your code quality by writing tests automations and monitoring dashboards.
- Planning work using agile methodologies with Jira.Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and work with microservices architecture and containerization(Docker/Kubernetes).
Skills and Qualifications:
- Required:
- A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent professional expeirence
- Solid Back End development experience using Node.js / Express with a strong handson experience with modern database technologies both SQL and NoSQL such as MySQL Elasticsearch and Redis along with proficiency in modelling data
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools including Mocha Chai with a strong understanding of unit integration and endtoend testing best practices.
- Experience in building web applications employing various testingoriented and quality coding methodologies with a focus on microservices architecture hosted on AWS including knowledge of REST APIs and pub/sub messaging systems like NATS.
- Experience using CICD/microservices architecture/containers (Docker/Swarm Kubernetes).
- Experience in designing complex system architectures.
- Desired:
- Handson in Front End development using React.
- General Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of motivation sense of urgency and ability to quickly learn and deliver both independently and in a team environment.
